Wonder of Wonders ...

Yesterday we had a wonderful time at the Dali Museum, viewing his exhibit, and then a special exhibit of Frida Kahlo’s life and work. Though we know their works, these exhibits contained much new art and information – but the best part was a virtual reality experience. It took us right into one of Dali’s paintings, and we had three minutes to wander around virtually, climbing his towers, exploring his desert, and generally being amazed!

Then, Jeff opted out, but I visited the Holocaust Museum, for two hours of pretty heavy immersion – well-done, though, with lots of important information.

Best of all, when we arrived back at the hotel, I had a phone message that we have a place to stay on Sanibel Island for five days – a shared house with a lovely woman and her dog. Wonder of wonders – our connection at the zoo came through!

Today we attended a hot glass-blowing demonstration and had a great (if cool) walk on St. Pete’s beach. Tomorrow, it’s off to Sarasota to have lunch with our old friends, Ingrid and Chuck. So far so good - we’ll be on Sanibel by Sunday J. Pics of all the events of the last two days below …
